Emmanuel is blessed by our location, right at the corner of State and University, next to West Side Park, in the middle of Champaign's vibrant downtown. The Episcopal tradition emphasizes the idea of the "Geographical Parish": that God calls us to love and care for everyone in our neighborhood, regardless of religious affiliation, culture, or economic status. We "seek the welfare of the city where God has called us," just as God directed the Hebrew exiles through the prophet Jeremiah, and we are a proud member of the Champaign Center Partnership. The combination of our location and our vocation gives us many opportunities to promote the flourishing of our area in collaboration with our neighbors. Check out a few samples of ministry initiatives below.
