The United Thank Offering (UTO) supports the mission and outreach work of the Episcopal Church. At a local level, individuals use small blue UTO boxes to gather daily offerings in thanksgiving for blessing received; this is the fullest form of the UTO practice, although many people these days choose simply to write a check.
Emmanuel collects all our members' daily UTO giving as a special offering once a year, and the proceeds are sent via our diocese to the national Episcopal Church Women organization who designate where it will be used this year. All grant requests are researched by the UTO Committee with awards being made in late summer. Each year, 100% of the money is distributed in grants as well as any earned interest.
Everyone can become a part of the United Thank Offering by offering thanks as part of your daily life with Christ, by taking home and using a "Blue Box" (available at the Communications Corner table in the Great Hall), or by making a single gift when the church collects annually for the UTO.
